The Rainbow Springs Run-Down

  • We stayed: Rainbow Springs State Park Campground
  • We explored, swam, watched wildlife (otters, anhingas, turtles, herons, cormorants, red bellied sunfish), caught ten (!) fish, cannonballed, and kayaked: Rainbow Springs and Rainbow River
  • We drank: Swamp Head Brewery
  • We are reading: John Muir’s A Thousand Mile Walk to the Gulf
  • Making me think about the book: Swamplandia!

  1. Love all the photographs and musings you post. I have mentioned before that this is an awesome experience for the children. I have now realized it is perhaps even more awesome for you two, Joe and Molly. It is wonderful that you can be so close to your children in guiding them through life’s exploration. May the Lord continue to bless you and your adventure. Uncle Richard
